The Universal Bedleg®
System easily attaches to the box spring utilizing two components: the threaded
base plate and the bed leg. The threaded base plate installs directly onto
the box spring and the leg simply screws into the threaded area of the base
plate completing the installation. Once the base plate is secured to the
box spring using a power screwdriver, consumers can then very easily resize
the height of their beds without any tools by simply attaching a different
size leg.
Detailed Installation Instructions:
IMPORTANT: Verify that
your side rails meet the minimum requirements of a finished width of no
less than 2 1/4". We recommend the box spring side and center rails be
of high quality kiln dried wood of 1" x 4" (finished size of 3/4 " x 3
1/4"). For these installations the outside set of screw holes should be
used. With rails of less dimension, the inside set of screw holes ( 1
1/4" o.c. ) should be used. Minimum actual rail dimension must be 2.1/4".
Verify that your boxspring rails are of sufficient size to adequately
accept the Universal Bedlegs®
base plate as indicated.
STEP ONE:
Align the Universal Bedleg®
base plate so that it is six inches from the top of the boxspring, as
indicated in the diagram on the left. The side of the base plate with
2 holes should face the outside edge of the boxspring, as indicated in
the diagram on the left. Determine which set of holes you will use by
measuring the width of your boxspring rail. If your rails are a finished
width of 3/4" x 3 1/4", use the outside set of screw holes. For rails
of lesser dimension, use the inside set of screw holes.
STEP TWO: Using a power
screw driver, mount the plate to the boxspring using the supplied hardware.
USE ONLY 4 SCREWS PER PLATE. (Refer to photo on left)
STEP THREE: Hand twist
the threaded leg stem into the base plate. (Refer to photo on right)
